Connected for Renewal

The Legion has welcomed 100,000 new members — an incredible milestone for the Legion family.

These members joined through the free membership offer. Now, as we look ahead to renewal, Branches have an important opportunity to help them see the value of staying part of the Legion: supporting Veterans, strengthening Remembrance, serving their communities, and belonging to a national family built on camaraderie and support.

Not every member will be ready to volunteer right away. A simple welcome, friendly invitation, Branch update, or low-pressure opportunity to connect can help members feel they belong — and that connection can make all the difference when it comes time to renew.

Don’t Forget to Remember
Don’t Forget to Remember

By now, all Branches should have received their Don’t Forget to Remember kit containing sticky notes, display materials, instructions, and return packaging.

This initiative is being promoted nationally and encourages Canadians to stop by their local Legion Branch to share their message of Remembrance.

Please have your kit readily available and be prepared to welcome visitors who may be coming into your Branch to take part.

Branches are asked to mail their kits back using the return packaging by July 31.

Keeping Members Connected — the key to member renewal
Keeping Members Connected —
the key to member renewal

Members are more likely to renew when they feel welcomed, informed, valued, and connected to their Branch throughout the year.

To support Branches, we are sharing a new bilingual guide: Keeping Members Connected.

The guide includes practical ideas, discussion questions, and ready-to-use messages to help Branches strengthen member connection, participation, communication, and renewal.

Branches are encouraged to review the guide at an upcoming meeting and choose one or two simple actions to start with.
