Encourage your members to add their email | The Legion is running a $5,000 VIA Rail member sweepstake to encourage members to add an email address to their member profile. Members can add their email at Legion.ca/email to enter. The sweepstakes will be promoted in the July/August issue of Legion Magazine. | Members with an email on file have access to benefits including automatic entry in national member contests, the bi-monthly member newsletter, notices of member opportunities, and more. | You can help promote the sweepstakes by printing and posting the attached poster at your Branch. Branches with member emails also can submit a list of emails to Member Services using the attached Excel file template
to update the member database. |

New policy on hate groups |
|
Due to a number of recent incidents, the Legion has implemented a new, clearer policy concerning hate groups. The Royal Canadian Legion does not support or tolerate any group or organization whose views or actions are contrary to our values and those of our country. | This policy has been implemented, effective immediately, with the approval of the Dominion Executive Council, including Presidents from all Provincial Commands and Special Sections. |

Thank you for another successful Poppy Campaign! | The numbers are in! During the 2017 Poppy Campaign, the Legion distributed 19.8 million Poppies! More than $16 million was disbursed to support Canadian Veterans and their families and honour the Fallen. Thank
you to all Legion Branches for your support and efforts during the campaign. |

The Legion’s new Member Services Website is a gateway to convenient branch-specific and membership information and services, including simplified new member sign-ups and renewals. | Branches can login to portal.legion.ca with the username and password provided. |

Reminder: Branches are required to remit per capita tax at least monthly |

Make sure your paid members are in good standing! Legion General Bylaws, Section 1205 (Branch Returns) states: Each branch shall: a. Remit at least monthly to Dominion Command a per capita tax payment of all tax collected during the preceding month. | With a number of provincial conventions coming up, remitting per capita tax each month ensures attending members are in good standing. Please make sure you are keeping your member records up-to-date. | 2020 Two-Part Renewal Stickers | Ensure your renewing members receive their 2020 renewal stickers. Process online or send in your member renewals by July 15, 2019 to receive their 2020 stickers. Stickers will be mailed to Branches end of August 2019. |
