Poppy Stories with a new twist

The Legion is once again proud to present “Poppy Stories”, an initiative that allows Canadians to scan a lapel Poppy with their smartphone. With every scan, you’ll be introduced to a fallen soldier with a story to remember. The stories expand on where and how soldiers grew up in Canada, their family history, pre-war careers, and even some of their passions. We hope Poppy Stories gives every Canadian someone special to think about this Remembrance Day.

This year, we've added 50 new stories that focus on peacekeeping.

Visit PoppyStories.ca on your smart phone starting October 27.

The First Poppy

On October 20, Royal Canadian Legion Dominion President, Bruce Julian will present the symbolic First Poppy to Governor General Mary Simon. The First Poppy presentation is the ceremonial start of The Royal Canadian Legion’s annual Poppy Campaign.
